１１がつ１９にちのアクティビティ

At the end of the semester we will have not only teachers but also you and your classmates evaluate your プリテレ work. We will use the results of your discussions today as a basis for deciding the criteria that we will use to evaluate プリテレ work at the end of the semester.

1. Discuss the followings in groups of 3-4 people.
  • what makes a good TV show
  • what are imporant factors that will ensure working in a group will be successful for everyone involved.  
2. Post the result of your discussion in the comment column of this blog. Make sure to include your names or initials with the posting so we know that you have commented.

    What makes a good show:
    Interesting, engaging/entertaining/informative. Well-presented.

    Important factors for group success:
    Accountability (specific jobs for each group member), communication/scheduling, making deadlines for specific things to be done

    For a good show:
    Be original
    Have good actors

    For group work:
    Distribute work evenly
    Everyone should contribute their own ideas
    Compromise!

    1.
    Good images (lots of)
    Lots of animation
    Interesting storyline
    Good story-telling
    Interaction (breaking the third wall)
    Good facial and bodily languages

    2. On teamwork
    Division of tasks
    Good leadership and participation
    Atmosphere for all to pitch-in
    Good communication (Face-2-Face is the best! NAH to online chatting)

    Good show:
    entertaining to watch, engaging, well-practiced, coherent, understandable

    Working in a group:
    split the work/talking equally, communicate well, everyone contributes ideas

    What makes a show:
    Good quality of video, originality, interesting story, use Japanese well, minimal English, engaging, educational

    Group: Communication, negotiation, commitment, good division of work

    1.) Entertaining,
    Makes sense,
    Clear audio and dialogue
    Appropriate language
    Not too static, there needs to be movement/scene switches

    2.) Everyone needs to be filmed at least once
    Clear division of roles
    Good communication
    Consistently shows up to meetings/practices --> aka being present
    Being flexible with different ideas
    Contribution from all members

    1. Engaging, amusing background music, message that connects with audience, funny.
    2. Everyone contributes. Clear roles for everyone. Direct leadership/communication. Skype or google docs.
